Why Postcards on Life?

Disillusioned with traditional social media as a way to keep in touch, in late 2020 I started Postcards on Life with the simple belief that slow correspondence is part of the good life.

Inspired by what I’m reading (I hope you like memoirs, contemporary novels, and philosophy) and places I’m visiting Postcards on Life is a series of down-to-earth essays crafted from that sweet spot between leisure and purpose.

Thanks for being here and reading along 💛

About Jodi Rempel

K, SO.

I’ve spent my career (I use that term loosely) bouncing around all while dreaming of writing One Day. Motivated by the constraints of growing up with a single mom and an obsession with flared Mavi jeans, I got my first job at 15 as a cashier at a grocery store which honestly taught me a lot about integrity, “international” food, and crappy uniforms.

With an occasional righteous attitude about my (then) vegetarianism, in 2011 I earned a Bachelor of Arts – Honours in Philosophy and Environmental Studies from Queen’s University. Though I don’t believe in “figuring out what you want to do with your life”, on my way to where I am now I worked at a luxury yoga apparel company, decided I definitely didn’t want to be a lawyer, and completed a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution at the University of Victoria.

Convinced that our dreams look a lot different when they become a reality, I currently write Postcards on Life on my indefinite trip around the world 🌎
